MTIO started as an experimental take on a punk rock upbringing involving aspects of progressive rock, electronica and experimentation. After releasing their debut EP "Rima" they supported the record with an east coast tour in the fall of 2007. Immediately following their return home they've started to prepare recording their follow up record which stands to include elements of multiple instrumentation including horns, dual drummers and sporadic vocals.rnrnThe fall tour started in Louisiana and went through the Gulf Coast heading up to New York. They highlighted the Lit Lounge( New York City) and went down through Baltimore and D.C., then playing The World Famous Milestone in North Carolina, making their mark at every show in every city they played.rnrnThe formative years of MTIO have helped culminate the sound that despite their best efforts, critics have found hard to pigeonhole. The dynamic intesity of their live shows and diversity of influences have afforded the band the freedom to share the stage with bands ranging from The Advantage to New Jersey's up and coming hardcore band, The Mongoloids. On top of playing with the melodic instrumental band Tristeza, their live show also got them on the bill with the eerie and blistering band The Paper Chase.rnrnThis January MTIO toured the east coast again with Nagasaki's very own Fantasy's Core. The tour started in Houston and went through Hot Springs, AR to The Milestone in North Carolina. The two groups then made their way north to Morgantown, WV playing at 123 Pleasant Street, followed by numerous shows in the PA - NJ area. The final show with Fantasy's Core was at the Southpaw in Brooklyn, NY. The Nagasaki band then made their way home and MTIO did the same, playing D.C. , Greenville, NC and a couple shows in Lafayette and New Orleans.rnrnThis year the band will be recording for numerous splits as well as preparing their full length which should be finished and released this year.
